Video overview

How does the light-turning Aero version differ from the previous MGC3 BETA models? I put it to the test with an unboxing, teardown, weight comparison, and test solve! This time, I review YJ's MGC3 BETA Aero Version. The packaging calls it the “Aero Magnetic Version／云感磁力版.” The name suggests a cloud-like feel, but what is it actually like to turn? First, I check the turning feel straight out of the box, then take the cube apart to examine its internal structure. The key difference I discover is that the Aero version lacks the core magnets found in the previous MGC3 BETA models. With the earlier models alongside it, I also compare the structure around the core, edge pieces, accessories, and the inside of the center caps. ■ Weight comparison in this video MGC3 BETA MagLev version: 79.4g MGC3 BETA spring version: 74.5g MGC3 BETA Aero version: 71.5g Note: These are measurements of my own individual cubes, taken during the video. In the second half, I try a solve with the factory settings! While the turning is light, the cube also feels a little too flexible for me. I share my honest impressions from solving it, including its lightness, controllability, and the absence of assistance from core magnets. Having really liked the previous MGC3 BETA, I have some fairly critical impressions this time. I hope this review helps anyone who owns cubes from the series or is curious about the Aero version. How much importance do you place on light turning and magnetic assistance when choosing a cube? Let me know in the comments!
